Hug in a Mug - with Dusty Attic

Good morning how are you? I am here with my first post for April. Its be hectic in my life over the last 3 months but I am feeling like things are starting to settle down and I am getting some normality back.

With this thought.... it gave me the inspiration for my take on this months Dusty Attic Mood board.

Hmmmm coffeeeeeeeee !!!

To start off its all about deconstructing the wood pattern paper, and distressing the edges. And sticking it down on some white cardstock.

Once again I used an envelope to be my photo mat/ layer with all the the fussy cut floral print.

Now its about colouring all my chipboard elements and to give them a little bit of a lift with some metallic waxes.

Add a little bit of bling to the layout by making your own blend of glitters and art stones.

For the title I used embossing enamel.

Paradise

Good morning how are you? Rikki here today to share with you my take on this months Dusty Attic Moodboard and what an inspiration that it is for sure.

Its all about Summer vibes and I have to say after a week of humid, rainy weather I am missing a little bit of Summer, mind you my gardens have been loving it and that means less time watering and more time creating. Good idea right?

So where to start with this layout I want to say it was a well thought out ''planned'' layout but it was one that evolved over a couple of days.

Starting with just the papers making the layers of colours and using bits of the left over kit that was on my table. Then found the photo and it sat there because I wasnt really feeling it.

Ever had one of those layouts?

So trying to find inspiration I started to play with the Drift Wood #1 I kind of wanted a to create a birds nest.

So after spraying the chipboard with Rust- Oleum Satin Ivory Silk I started to arrange them, stacking and cutting them to fit in a shape.

Now whats a birds nest without some birds? Well in this cause the Pelicans are the perfect fit. So along with them and a title - a little spray on Rust-oleum Chalk white and we are right to go.

Ok so the base is done now comes a long process but I have to say it was a relaxing one the bling.

So starting from the birds nest its a combination of art stones, fairy dust, gold glass flakes.

The next part of the bling is the rhinestones and dew drops, spending a lot of time sticking them down I would recommend using a wax pencil to help place your rhinestones etc

To finish off the look I added some larger pearls throughout the nest.

Making Memories

Good morning how are you? You know the best thing about this layout a day is? I get to do the odd double page layout with a mass of photos !!! 15 photos over 2 pages isnt too bad and it means I am starting to empty some of my containers of photos....

How many photos have you done on a layout before?
