Scrap Around the World December challenge

Whoooo!!! I can get one more post done and one more challenge complete before the close of 2013... this time its for Scrap Around the World December mood board and optional sketch. I must say I was a little worried that I could pull this off and the sketch was the life saver in this, hopefully I did this stunning board justice...

So how did I interpret the board? The colours I took from mostly the aqua frames and the navy blue in the image of the books. The glitter was reflecting the metallic in the ring and the grey colour was take from the stone under the ring. The flower is in the background.

Had to add one of my favourite song lyrics "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves you" - Sam Cook, also with the addition of the texture paste I wanted to mimic the art deco lady's background.

The layers are my interpretation of the stacked frames and the addition of the doilies where taken from the ornate book binding

Hope you enjoy my interpretation and have a Wonderful New Year.

Life Paper Scrapbook December Sketch

Another day another day chasing my tail trying to get the balance right when it comes to creating and blogging but I am determined to continue strong till the end of the year (hehehe). Over the Christmas period I have seemed to have lost my mojo, which tends to happen to most of use, there's only so much room in ones brain and creativity tends to be forgotten. My problem is the turning on of that part of the brain, for me the perfect remedy to that is to do challenges and challenges where the due date is really, really close..... that way you can procrastinate you just have to do it!!!

So to start this process I decided to use Life Paper Scrapbook's December Sketch challenge..... you cant go wrong with a sketch its just a matter of picking your papers and embellishments and follow a sketch....

Stop, Capture to remember!!!

Merry Christmas everyone, I am starting to enjoy the festivities!!! I hope that you are enjoying the final countdown to the big day and that you are cherishing all those precious memories.... and capturing them with your camera of course.....  today on this day I though I would share with you something that I have been wanting to do but then time would allude me and it would go to the next year pile. I realised that I was running out of the next years especially with the Christmas tradition with the kids getting bigger, so this was the year to do it and I am so happy I did.

The inspiration came from #makestuffprettydownunder class that I am beyond grateful that I attending in November with Heidi Swapp and Kim Jeffress, I realised there was no time like the present and to just get scrapping those photo.

This is our family tradition Memory file, what start off as something that was going to be placed in a photo album evolved into a shadow box display to be brought out each year to show and to be added to as our traditions change and evolve.
It still is a work in progress as this year is about capturing those little things that make Christmas special in our house. So hopefully this has inspired you to stop, capture to remember!!!!

Scrap it with Attitude December's challenge

Scrap It with Attitude this month is one to get you inspired to use those Christmas photos and if your anything like me I tend to take a large amount of photos and then only scrap one or I have a huge amount of photo in my stock pile, so this is a perfect way to find your festive spirit and get scrapping it.

This is Amelia's first Christmas but I didn't want to do something too traditional so something hot pink it is and the range of papers aren't even Christmas but the damask when cut out makes perfect Christmas decorations....

Scrap FX mood Board Challenge

Scrap Fx has been running some mood board challenges, and I must admit I do struggle with these types of challenges, this one was no exception. Its a stunning mood board and half way though doing my layout I was very, very concerned about I had started to create hence a brain wave of rainbow coloured butterflies. It one of the brightest pieces I have ever done, and I am extremely happy with the results.
