Loving the Outdoors

Good morning Rikki here for Dusty Attic and continuing from my last post its all about Summer Vibes and something a bit brighter and girly.

So it all started with the background, one of my most favourite mediums is Tim Holtz Ocides, why? Its one of the easiest inks to use so for this background its just colours swiped on the pages and then hit with water after.

So with these inks you really dont have to worry about the colours clashing and making ''mud'' colours, just make sure each colour is dry before you swipe the next colour over the top.

Once you are happy with that result then hit it with a little water .....

With such a colourful background the best way to treat the chipboard is to just spray it white and then thats it, it showcases your background and it makes the chippy pop !!!

Dont you love this title? I love that you can layer components of it.

And dont forget:

Cherish - For Craft on the Run

Good morning how are you? I am here today to share with you another layout using the captivating Uniquely Creative which is IN STORE NOW so why dont you pop into Craft on the Run and see what else is new.

#22/365

So I have to say I love this piece of paper, the hard bit is what to do with it and how to showcase its effortless beauty.

So why not grab a scalp and do a little fussy cutting?

To add that bit of wow factor use the Xpress it glue pen & Brush to trace around the printed glitter and then add real glitter .... I mean who doesnt love a bit of shimmer?

Add some fussy cutting to your  paper flowers from the  Native Flora Outback Divine tuck them over and under your flowers to really incorporate your embellishment cluster.

Dont forget to add the same glitter to your title and then your right to go.....

Forever for Craft on the Run

Good morning how are you? I am here on a hump day for Craft on the Run,  hopefully getting you inspired to get a little bit creative even if its just for 10 minutes.

I am once again sharing some work using the NEW Uniquely Creative Outback Divine. Dont forget to ring the store to grab some of this amazing collection - it wont last long.

One of the stand out products from this collection is the new SLIM GUM LEAVES DIES what an amazing die!!! For any paper crafters the things you can do.....

Keep the die as is and add different backgrounds. Or like what I have done here I tinted the white cardstock with LINDYS STAMP GANG MAGICALS, once it was die I chopped it up so I could add throughout the fussy cut pieces and the the creative cuts.

When you have chipboard, add some metallic interest by hitting with waxes, ever so lightly with your finger, this allows all the textures from chipboard.

Use a combination of fussy cutting  and creative cuts.

Paradise

Good morning how are you? Rikki here today to share with you my take on this months Dusty Attic Moodboard and what an inspiration that it is for sure.

Its all about Summer vibes and I have to say after a week of humid, rainy weather I am missing a little bit of Summer, mind you my gardens have been loving it and that means less time watering and more time creating. Good idea right?

#20/365

So where to start with this layout I want to say it was a well thought out ''planned'' layout but it was one that evolved over a couple of days.

Starting with just the papers making the layers of colours and using bits of the left over kit that was on my table. Then found the photo and it sat there because I wasnt really feeling it.

Ever had one of those layouts?

So trying to find inspiration I started to play with the Drift Wood #1 I kind of wanted a to create a birds nest.

So after spraying the chipboard with Rust- Oleum Satin Ivory Silk I started to arrange them, stacking and cutting them to fit in a shape.

Now whats a birds nest without some birds? Well in this cause the Pelicans are the perfect fit. So along with them and a title - a little spray on Rust-oleum Chalk white and we are right to go.

Ok so the base is done now comes a long process but I have to say it was a relaxing one the bling.

So starting from the birds nest its a combination of art stones, fairy dust, gold glass flakes.

The next part of the bling is the rhinestones and dew drops, spending a lot of time sticking them down I would recommend using a wax pencil to help place your rhinestones etc

To finish off the look I added some larger pearls throughout the nest.
