Live Beautifully with Dusty Attic

Good morning how are you? Wow March already? "It true the saying blink and you will miss it", that has been the last two months right? 

Well with that in mind a new month means another stunning Moodboard challenge from Dusty Attic.

Have you ever had a heap of bits and smaller pieces of chipboard, and wondered how can I link them to make them into a larger piece? An impact piece? Well this is the layout for you !

After going though the stash after spraying them all white I realised I had used most of my major, larger pieces of Dusty Attic Chipboard.

So the task how to put them altogether so they make a large impact.

Foam tape or left over chipboard will be your friend in the process its important so stems and layers can be added so it seems seamless.

To start off stick your photo down , then find some fussy cutting or ephemera and I added three clusters along the bottom they act as an anchor point.

Start with your largest piece of chipboard like the Spring Blooms. I have placed them starting on the righthand side. 

Everything feeds from that, now its just about placing pieces in and around them.

Add the Branches and Berries to cap of the cluster.

Now for the top left hand corner, I didn't have any Spring Blooms left, so in Foliage Cluster #3 there's a piece is similar, so it give your layout some symmetry and it ties in similar shapes.

Once you happy with all your chipboard add some art stones or prills throughout the layout.

Now you can choice to leave it like that but there's nothing better than getting a little messy. 

So grab your inks and a water bottle, and yes I am aware that there's a photo stuck - loosely cover it as you want all your layers to tie into together.

Dont have enough circle bits? Cut them up and scatter through out the layout, to make some broken patterns, and on the plus side it gives places for ink and art stones to gather adding to the overall look of one large piece of chipboard.

A4 Journal Covid Diary - for Craft on the Run

Good morning how are you liking this months theme for Craft on the Run of  Project Life, A4, Diary style scrapbooking? I have to say its been fun to play in a different format compared to a 12x12 scrapbook page, there needs to be a thoughtful design before you get started- a more graphic style of scrapping.

Now for a little disclosure - if you zoom in you will see few curse words.... this is my little ranty, personal journey through the Covid Pandemic.... I decided that I was going to document the journey and is a silly thought it would be over in a year so I started to do some then left it and then realised I am now so far behind its not even funny !!! So now every week I am going to have a play and get into the journey of Covid and living with and through the pandemic.

So what are the advantages of doing a A4 style of scrapbook page? I started doing these layouts when my daughter wanted to scrap like mummy..... after the first 12x12 page I did with her I realised even with guidance that the urge for the 6 year old to put everything within eye sight on the page was to big to ignore.

By down sizing the page to A4 it soon became obvious that there was less room to fill up and less product was used to create a page and she was learning how to self edit.

Typing out journaling helps with the space saving and also helps if you dont like your hand writing.

Also using your Project Life Cards make great instant layers. Also all your left over ephemera bits and pieces add interest and clears your stash.

Got washi  tapes? Not sure when to use them? They are great on layouts like this one simple strip will allow you to add interest without the bulk and save you money on tape because its sticky and ready to go.

Add a little wood veneer to your layouts to add some interest. Want them to be really metallic? Use Alcohol inks , they come in 100s of colours and they dry instantly.... perfect when you want a quick layout.

Remember to have fun with your journaling - its a way to leave little bits of our personality behind. Remember the is on right or wrong when you are sharing your thoughts.

Hopefully you are inspired to get creating and with A4 Style pages.

Now and Then

Good morning how are you? I am here today with a double layout well an interactive double layout with doors and fold outs and a couple of flip layouts as I had some vineyard photos that I wanted to include all the details but rather than spread over to a couple of layouts I wanted to add on a double..... with a fun interactive twist. 

This process I am also attempting for my wedding album at moment - taking my time and learning a lot of things as I go along.
