I can do boy layouts too!

Had a great kit from http://madewithmemories.blogspot.com/ and I managed to get my scrap on with it, 3 layouts and 1 card ( yes I said a card, again its catching really). So I thought I would share one of the layouts and since the blog looks like it has been overrun with pink, I will share the boy layout,(I must admit I am starting to fall in love with masks, it was really a fun thing to play with).

My First Design Team position!!!!

It has been a busy couple of weeks here, and not alot of it to do with scrapping :( but today I fixed that problem by creating a layout using http://madewithmemories.blogspot.com/. And I must say its a challenge to do vintage piece, but I am very proud of this layout. Heaps of layering and little details, and alot of thinking about how to pull it off successfully. So this will be my last monthly challenge as a customer........

I am so excited to say that I am now on my first design team, for Made With Memories, you will be seeing my work in store very soon.

Rikki Graziani (edited)

Here is her gorgeous layout!

Thank you everyone for entering you gorgeous work! We look forward to seeing your October entries, we have two back in store already and they are beautiful. Each month you are making it very hard to pick a winner!!

Scrap the Boys and A Lil Somethin go hand in hand....

http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/ Octobers challenge is to use handmade embellishment, either brought or if you have time, your own handmade embellishments and this got me excited.... I am becoming a collector of http://www.alilsomethin.blogspot.com/ embellishments, a whole HUGE jar full, and as pretty as they are in the jar..... they need to be used and loved before I buy more and its probably a good idea to use some before the next sale so DH can be convinced that I am not hoarding scrapbooking stuff and its stuff that I need.

Yes NEED and thats my story and I am sticking to it!!!

Made with Memories monthly Challenge

After another successful layout (August) for http://madewithmemories.blogspot.com/, it motivated me to do the September challenge kit as I have been super busy and haven't had anytime to create. I have even missed out on some design calls this month because September has been insane and I havent had time to catch up, but I rallied and just made the deadline for September's challenge kit was about techniques and what you can do......

We were given 1x cardstock, 1x piece of Basic Grey pattern paper, a set of stamps, and a choice of ink colour (cinnamon in my case).

I have started to notice that I am using alot of KRAFT......

I have this system of once I do a layout, I throw it on a shelf on my bookcase to put in an album later when I can be bothered to sort out the timeline etc, however this always ends up with me having a huge pile OK massive pile of layouts that needed to be sorted. But going through the pile I have noticed that at the moment I am using a huge amount of Kraft card stock, I seem to be loving its versatility, you can mist it, ink it, paint it, distress it, I could go on and on.

So during one of my lack of mojo days and trying to find some inspiration I stumbled across a blog dedicated to using Kraft..... HEAVEN !!!!!

http://kraftitup.blogspot.com/; have monthly challenges, and I have to say Septembers was a little bit of a challenge......  This months challenge is to create a layout using Kraft or Kraft Patterned Paper as your base and to use FABRIC & STITCHING. Now this could be machine or hand stitching the choice is yours and your fabric can be anything from a flower you have made from fabric, fabric ribbons, fabric strips or to use fabric instead of paper the inspiration is up to you but we must be able to see fabric and stitching on your layouts!!!

So this got me thinking and it worked out really well considering that I just brought an i-top and I wanted to play with fabric since I have some fabric now I am branching out to the sewing world thanks to a BFF xxxx.

My name is Rikki..... and I am an online scrap shopper.

People who know me, know I have been anti buying things online, because there is something about touching, feeling and seeing the items when you buy them in a shop.  I come to you as the converted, I am now am a online shopper and I seem to be making up for lost time, ( lol, but I dont think the bank account is finding the work out funny).

One of those companies that I have been working the bank account out with is Anna's Craft Cupboard, my recent purchase was the entire range of MME Lost and Found 2 and I do mean all the range including all the bits.....

They have a monthly Sketch competition;http://www.annascraftcupboard.com.au/gallery3/showgallery.php?cat=571 so what better way to play with the new purchases, and more importantly to get a layout done and I am happy to get it done at the start of the month instead of rushing lol, and the sketch works perfectly for the photos I had sitting on my desk...

So thank you Anna for converting me to the online shopping world (dont know if DP feels that way, but he will learn to like it lol), and no doubt I will be spending more soon.

Suffering the lack of mojo AGAIN..... how do I get past it?

Well after two weeks of wanting to scrap and heaps of new pretties ( and I do mean a heap)..... I still couldnt find my mojo but after forcing myself to just do a layout to get past this block I created up a storm yesterday a great effort of 8 layouts completed.

So my question is for those who are reading, what its your trick in pushing past the lack of mojo? Mine was a suck it up just do a layout and music turned all the way up......

This layout "I Adore You" is based on #172 http://creativescrappers.blogspot.com/ it was just what I needed to push through the block.

And a shout to Lovelybug Bits n Bobs; http://soupie75.blogspot.com/p/lovelybug-bits-n-bobs.html for all those little bits which I needed to complete this layout xxxx.

A little bit Vintage..... or so I hope.

I must admit vintage is not my thing, not that I don't want it to be, I just cant wrap my head around it. I understand the colours and how to work with sepia tones however I think its the photos themselves. Its not because I don't love old photos, I love them and cherish them, I really do! Maybe this is the reason I cant wrap my head around them, I just don't want to stuff up a perfect photo....

Hence I found July's monthly challenge pack from http://madewithmemories.blogspot.com/ a struggle.....

Working Backwards!!!

So its been awhile since I have edited a photo which got me thinking that I should do that but what photo and then what would I do with that photo......

I am going to share with you my thought process, I had this beautiful paper, hot pink, black and white, really adult not for little baby girls and I really wanted to use it but if you know me I am always behind the camera so it cant be for a layout about me. Then I got thinking I have been with my partner for 10 years which has to be a milestone or something so I need to celebrate that in someway surely, so all I need a photo of the two of us, bonus I have one of those since my friend took some on my birthday this year, so that's off the list but I want to do a black and white photo and this is what you get..... me working backwards, and using hot pink on a photo with my partner ( who dare not complain that you cant use pink on a boys page, because he knows better).

Monthly challenges......

So I have been creating but it has been very slow and I do mean very slow. It being the end of the month a couple of things are due and as per lack of mojo I have just made it. The first one was the monthly challenge pack brought out by http://madewithmemories.blogspot.com/ and I was very excited to create with this pack, it had enough stuff in it to do multiple pages and for both boy and girl. I ended up do 2 layout and then had to decide which one, so this is the one that made the final cut;

Bazzill Cardstock, Jillibean Soup PP & Tags, doily, Twine, Paint
Well I also did another layout with the same techniques and challenge pack lets hope I have made the right decision.

Design Team call......... but not this time :(

Well as I said the other day, I submitted work for a design team, but I didnt get in..... ahhhhhhhh well at least I tired and I did 2 beautiful layouts that I am very proud of as well. Congrats to those who did get on the DT and I can wait to see what beautiful creations you will come up with.

These layouts where based on http://creativescrappers.blogspot.com/ , the first one is #155;
Making Memories Pitter Patter, Bazzil Cardstock, Maya Road Ribbon

The next layout was one of those which I knew what I wanted to do but I didnt want it to be one of those lost in translation layouts, but once it was complete I was very happy with the end result and I will be applying some of those techniques on other layouts. And on a side note; the page is sewn on and you would be pleased to know that this time the threading of the bobbin wasnt as tramatic as last time and it took about 5 minutes to do.......

Havent been here but I have been creating....

I have been busy creating away and challenging myself a lot lately. First of all I recently brought myself a challenge pack from Made with Memories ( http://madewithmemories.blogspot.com/), and I have to admit it was a total challenge but I managed to win Aprils challenge !!!!!!

This is what was in the pack:

And this is what I created:

Thank you to Made with Memories for my $25 voucher and I am already starting on Junes challenge pack which is delicious.

Also I decided to take the leap and put myself forward for a Creative Scrappers design team call. Will let you know how it goes in a couple of days and will also share what I created for it as well, but for now I must wait...

I am a little bit in love the with the kits by http://simplestories.typepad.com/simple_stories/ I have all of them except one (I am working on fixing it).  There 100 days of Summer worked for this photo the hardest thing was choosing all the little bits that are in the kit.

It was a quick layout thanks to http://www.inspired-blueprints.com/ # 74:
