Hi how is everyone going? I here today to  share another one of the... well I suppose you can call it a series, using colouring sheet background and black and white stamped images.

I love this style of art journal because you really can play with the background and go nuts with your colours and stencils then ground it with your black and white images. 

And by adding a little black drop shadows you can blend the bright with the dark.

Let your dreams .....

Hello how are you going? I am here to share with you a labour of love. This art journal page took a massive 9 plus hours to complete and to be honest I still want to go and fiddle with the 

page by adding on more pencil work and more hidden details. 

I love this art journal page and it evolved from making a pencil case,which is a gift, so rather than lose track of my work it was a great way to replicate the art work into my book.

MIA.....

 Good morning how are you? Long time no speak lol ahhhh what can I say, life has been happening and with that the mojo stopped flowing.... A lot has happened that is for sure lets see if I can fill you in a little bit we started the  New year off with a new addition into the house with a new Golden Retriever puppy and let me say Maverick has kept us on our toes. We also have said goodbye to our beloved Jax, and we still continue to miss our big smiley Staffy Lab and its a hole that will never be filled. 

Our new house (3yrs old) need all the walls to be grinded out because of cracking and then repainted so that meant everything had to be moved out and lived with, let me tell you it wasnt very inspiring for the creative endeavours, but it did mean that my studio had an overhaul and a clean out and more organisation..... I am I the only one that finds if things are disorganised that I cant create?

So all the art mojo has been on holiday and I think it was a little bit of burnout, the joys of also being in my 40s means my brain has decided to go on hold and just motivation in general. 

So I am going to try and start the creative again and will be sharing some of my works, and they are a little bit different as I have started the Art Journal journey and just start to get back to playing with paints and colouring in hope to make some art works for my walls ( this is still a bit off I think).

So hopefully I will get to sharing and creating again more frequently.

Fresh Air for Bee Arty

 Good evening how are you all? Busy, busy here myself with getting creative and also prepping for an up and coming retreat, let me tell you my fingers are burnt from the hot glue.

So today I am sharing with you one of my processes when it comes to working out my mixed media backgrounds. 

I work and play in my art journal.....

My art journals tend to be where I work out colour combos, techniques and other things before I start playing with my scrap pages, especially when  I am lacking ideas, or not to sure how it will work out.

So then my art journals become a how to guide so I dont forget how I did it.

This is also a good time to crack out the old washi tapes and add them into your backgrounds, who doesnt love washi tapes.

When you layer your inks you end up with a nice Bokeh effect.

Adding some fussy cutting pieces you can create a finished journal page.

Its all about the layers, washi, stamping , inking, stenciling, splatting ink, and ephemera.

So why dont you create your own journal as a go to guide.
