Wind in my hair .... with Scrappingclearly

Good morning I am here with Scrappingclearly my second November post !!!!! WOW, WOW, WOW is all I can say, I am totally unprepared for my oldest turning 13 years old this month and dont even mention Christmas, is it too late to hide under the covers and pretend that this isnt happening?

Well while I sit in the corner, rocking myself I am going to share with you another layout using the stunning Pink Paislee Cedar Lane range. This time I  have paired it with a beach photo to prove it doesnt have to work just for Autumn/ Winter photos.... because lets face it Western Australia isn't really about leaves turning into those vibrant oranges, rich reds and earthy browns.....

So I had this stunning piece of leaf paper, leaves and leaves and more and of course that means fussy cuttin, I love this piece of pattern paper as it has the elegant shaped leave which also look like feathers (stay tuned...... ).

I must say there was something fun about using the sewing machine and going over all the leaves and sequins in free form.

Another cool thing about Pink Paislee is you can mix and match older ranges, here I have used the the charm from Bella Rouge, and some stickers from the Atlas range.

Dont have the right stickers? thats not a problem, grab a gold paint pen and custom your own alphas.

Dont forget our month Moodboard and Sketch Challenge, to go in the chance to win a $20 store voucher and yes thats $20 for each challenge!!!

Scrapping Clearly - You and Me

Good morning I am here with another post using the concept of flip books on a layout. This one is based on this months Scrapping clearly's sketch challenge which you still have a couple of days to enter, to go into the running to win a $20 store voucher.

This weeks layout has a huge amount of photos as I often do photo sessions and have 100's of photos to choice from, I came to the conclusion that I wont be able to scrap all those photos a few feature ones and then I would have to move on... this way I get the best of both words and this layout can highlight the event.

The Sketch:

Nothing like layering your chipboard frames and pieces to make your own embellishment cluster.

Who doesn't love a bit of gold? This range definitely has that....

Not completely finished this page, Hubby is going to write something for the kids before it goes into the album.

This is my favourite page working with loads of photos and the journal cards with the frames thrown in there as well, in a nice grid.

So I hope this has inspired you, also you still have a few days to enter the challenges to go into the chance to win a $20 Store Voucher.

Till next time, have a creative day.

Scrapping Clearly

Good morning, how are you all?  Still school holidays over here in the West which is great a few more lazy days before having to do the school rush drop off's and pick up's. I am here today to share my take on this months  Scrapping Clearly's October moodboard.

I must say its a bit of a hybrid and it might give you some inspiration to mix and use some of your left over that you tend to collect.

And yes thats my hand writing!!! I went through my old albums the other day with kids- way back when I started and I realised that I am missing journaling and my handwriting.

So this month I am going to revisit some of my old techniques and see how I can adapt them to my style now..... and yes I will show you the original layouts (arrrgghhhh!!!), hopefully it wont scare you away!!! And remind you we all started from somewhere.

When mixing an matching embellishments from different ranges try and pick a common colour palette.

Hope this has inspired you, I cant wait to see what you have created and dont forget to enter so you go in the chance to win a $20 store voucher.

Also join us on Instagram, where you can keep up to date with all the things happening in store and on our community page. Plus we have created an Instagram version of each months moodboard so if your out cropping you can look it up quickly....

So Pretty for Scrappingclearly

Good Morning I am here for Scrappingclearly today to share some transparency love!!! I am sure many of you like myself love a good transparent sheet of paper but struggle whether with ideas or should I use it all or will I hoard it because its beautiful.....

Just a handy tip Pink Paislee they have a plastic protection layer on it, dont do what I did and stick everything down (yes and sewn it down) and realize that ohhhhhh you can peel it off !!!!!

Something nice to do is make a shaker box with a transparency from the Instagram 4x4 cards, just grab your sewing machine and stitch it on....

Scrappingclearly Moodboard reveal

Good Morning I am here today to share with you my take in this months Scrapping Clearly Moodboard challenge, and what a challenge it was well at least for me.... but thats the whole point right?  I must say I do love board itself I was so proud of it when I created it for the design team, it might be a case of intimation maybe???

To make it eaiser on myself, I chose 2 of the main colours (teal and navy), a cream wood pattern piece of paper and I love the rope.... and went with a nautical style layout.

What do you do when you start a moodboard, please share in the comments!!!

Add water to your page before you paint on the Heidi Swapp Colorshine it will allow more of a free flowing watercolour technique.

I love the clear embellishments that you get in the Pink Paislee Atlas Ephemera pack.

For long flicks of white gesso, just water it down a bit and use a large flat tipped paint brush.

Color Shine Navy

I cant wait to see what your tips are and more importantly what you create based on this months moodboard!!! You will go into the running for a $20 store voucher, and dont forget we now accept art journals for the monthly moodboards.

Till next time have a creative day.
