Project Life journey continues...

As I have said before I made the choice to do Project Life for an event, the Crab Festive we attend every year and has become a tradition for my family, it goes over 2 days and 40,000 plus people travel down to our little foreshore to enjoy the great foods, arts & crafts, the fireworks and all the water sports. I always take 100's of photos and when I get home only print about half a dozen and the rest go onto a disk and that it. This is where I love Project Life I can share the whole event in the sleeves that come in the kit and by the end of it I have 10 new pages for my scrapbook and I have shown and told the whole story.

A simple washi boarder adds a which mat for your photos and ties in with your colour scheme.

I have added all my embellishments on the outside of the sleeve just make sure you use a strong adhesive.....

Don't forget to enter into Sassy Scrapper's monthly sketch you still have a few days to enter......

Sugar Chic, Sugar Rush!!!

As you know by now for sure is I am in love with all the Heidi Swapp products... and I have been waiting to get my hands on the Sugar Chic pattern paper pack and more specifically the big, bold, floral piece as it "'screamed'' to me, to be fussy cut. And I do like my fussy cutting I really find it a Zen experience and I love that I can do it at night time while watching a movie, nothing like a bit of multi tasking.

I am not one of those people that buy papers to match my photos and I really scrap backwards sometimes... I will work from the paper to the photo and back to the photo, and then make it all fit. How do you scrap?

Inspired Blueprints #95

I have to admit something, I am the worst Christmas layout scrapper!!! I don't know what it is !!! these photos always end up in the bottom of the heap year after year. Its not because I hate Christmas and all my friends accuse me of being over eager and over zealous of my Christmas tree (amongst other word which are not to be typed LOL).

I think its the lack of Christmas product... and I know  I can hear you already out there in cyber space saying "are you blind? living under a rock?" the answer to that is "Nooooooooooooo!!!" but its the lack of appropriate warm related Christmas products, usually over here in Western Australia ( and other parts of the country) we are beyond hot and snow flake papers just don't cut it... So a question to those that read this blog, " Am I alone?"

So to endeavour to change this problem, here's Christmas layout and Inspired Blueprints sketch was the perfect inspiration.... for my interpretation I flipped the sketch swapped the two small photo for a large 5x7 one and used tags instead of the black diecut piece.

Colour!!!

Another share from the Scrapbook Savvy Cyber crop and I have to say it was a lot of fun to complete all of the challenges and I managed 6 layouts plus the monthly sketch over that weekend. I am becoming a fan of cyber crops as it allows me to be home so no planning of what I have take and I can come in and out and work at it on my own pace....

So this one was a colour challenge we were given 4 colours to work with... and it was a lot of fun as I am a fan of the splatter technique  at the moment. What your favourite thing to do on a page? link me your blogs so I can see what your working on....

Measure or Eyeballer?

Morning all.... I would like to share with you a Christmas Layout which I recently completed for Scrapbook Savvy Cyber Crop. I was a Blind crop!!! and you may be asking what does that mean and don't worry I was thinking the same thing it is when you are given the instructions on how to create the layout and there is no picture of what it should look like. Now for me I had to get a ruler out and that's a novel idea for me, I know there's one on your cutter, this would be the first time that I had ever used it....

Do you a measure? or an Eye baller?

Project lifer???

So as I said last week I am not a Project lifer, and I went into this process thinking "how hard can it be to just slide journal cards and photos into the sleeves?'' well its not as easy as I first thought...

It takes a considerable amount of planning.... especially if your doing an event like I have chosen to do, because I wanted it to flow as the events happened. So a handy tip that I have learnt is start with your photos and then go for the journaling tags and embellishments second.

Washi tape is a great and quick embellishment for Project Life as you can stick it directly on to the sleeve, and if you do it through out your project it can tie it all together.

Just because Its Project life it doesn't mean you cant add dimension to your project, cut out a tag and use a little bit of foam mount and stick it on the outside of your sleeves.

The Greatest View flair buttons are a great way to add a saying or a subtitle. Don't forget to enter into this months Sassy Scrappers sketch for your chance to win a $20 voucher.... cant wait to see what you create xxx.

Hi, hope your are all well..... busy here at the moment need to find a new rental to move to so as you can image its chaos, but at least it allows a great clean out of stuff we don't need and its always good to get a head start with some packing...

As I have previously mentioned I am in the process of create and album for my Mother, using my grandparents photos, I must admit heritage photos isn't my usual comfort zone so I have struggled a little bit. I am unsure why, but hopefully I am doing the photos and the products justice, I love this range by Carte Bella as its pastel colours work with the sepia tones in a photo, so if you have heritage photos you need to work with why don't you pop into Made with Memories and grab some of this range.....

Inspired Blueprints #94

Half way through May can you believe it? I used to listen to my own Mother complain about how quick time flies when your older, I used to think she was nuts!!! but as it turns out she wasn't because it does get quicker and its starting to do my head in a little...

So with that little rant over its FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYY!!! and that means another sketch is revealed for Inspired Blueprints and if you have been playing along since the relaunch that means you have created 12 layouts! and who can complain about that.

Instagram inspiration........

At the moment I am finding inspiration in Instagram photos especially when you print them out, theres something about a square photo that makes me happy, and lets not forget the fun in changing the colour of your photo.

My little share today was made for Scrapbooks From the Heart, using Kaisercraft Hopscotch range, and it works well with the Instagram prints.....

What is your favourite size prints? and do you print them from home or a photo kiosk?

So why dont you pop  into the Scrapbooks from the Heart and say hi to Nicole and grab some of this range !!!!

Sunshine and Lollypops.... with Sawyer's place Summer brights

Now that all the warm  weather has disappeared here in WA I have been creating alot of bright layouts and my favourite colour is yellow !!! I have been holding onto this photo since 2011, it was taken on the day I got my daughters ears pierced when she was 5 months old, so I need to take a pic of the new bling and my favourite yellow dress.

So when I got given the new Sawyer's Place Summer Brights I knew that I had to use the yellow washi, on the AC Dear Lizzy yellow pp, but it then really needed something floral and girly.... so at the time I just put the layout away for another day. How many of you do that? put things away until you have the perfect solution?

Well my perfect solution came in the form of Scrapbooking Australia's Top 50 Cyber Date night.....
This challenge was an Ideal Date, my combo that I chose was Country Drive; it had to include flowers and patch work...

This is were the floral washi came into play and out came the sewing machine....

Made with Memories and Scrapbook Savvy Cyber Challenge...

So today I would thought I would share with you a layout that I recently completed for Scrapbook Savvy's Cyber Crop, and it was the perfect inspiration that I needed for my Made with Memories design team kit.

I have always wanted to try the minimalist style of scrapping and always go to start then add more things, then it blows out to a stunning layout but never a minimalist one.... so the guidelines where set... what do you think?

Made With Memories....

When I got my kit from Made with Memories I knew instantly what photo would be perfect for this range....

I have been currently doing some of my grandparents photos as a gift for my Mother. The biggest difficulty for me is when I do these photos I want to do them justice... do you have photos that you worry about? when you start creating your layouts.... and do you have any tips that might help?

May marks Project Life month over at Sassy Scrapper's. To be honest with you I havent had the desire to try it as I dont take a photo a day (I did start, but failed), but it go me thinking when there are events that you take loads of photos for but then only scrap some why not use it for that?

So coming to you from the converted here is my Project Life journey for the month of May. And to kick it off, why dont you try Sassy's Scrappers May sketch?
