Sawyer's Place
Morning just a quick share with you today as it is school holidays and my brain tends to leave me, hence blogging is usually out., but I must say that I am loving the fact that there are not school runs, I dont get sleep ins but not having to rush around in the morning is lovely.
So I have been playing with some Sawyer's Place washi of late and I have had the Sawyer's Place insanity script Pink in my stash for awhile and I have never been able to find a perfect range of paper to match it, till now that is.

ScrapFriends
Its been a busy month scrapping wise and I think that is because I am trying to get ahead with some design team commitments and scrapping for fun and enjoy the last of the school holidays as sometimes I don't have the opportunity to get as much creative time as I would like... and then its a mad dash when the next school holidays come around.
So I am fitting as many new challenges I can into the month ( and hopefully continuing for the year). I stumbled across Scrap Friends awesome sketches via Pinterest, so I thought I would investigate more. I am so happy that I did!!! they really do have a great site and the sketches oh my word......... instantly in love and cant wait to do them all!!!!
And as a bonus it has allowed me time to play with Sawyer's Place newest products and I am loving them!! They are the perfect something for your pages and to make your own embellishments.
Heres my take on the sketch:

Its a once of year thing..... with Sawyers Place
Its just a once a year thing..... once in a blue moon you will see me scrap a photo of myself alone.... I am trying to be better even to the point where I am training the other half how to use my DSLR so I can have more photos of me, but I am sure I am not the only one that has this problem?
But that being said today with this layout I bring you a new way to scrap in a hurry, its Sawyers Place Sticky paper, I love that you just peel the back off, stick and your half way there. It can be inked and painted on with a little help for some Gesso.

Sawyers Place feeling the brights
You don't often see me do bright, bright layouts unless pattern paper has them in it, but I have been playing with my Dylusion mists lately .... I decided there was no point hoarding them if I use them I use them I can always get more, I have been that way a bit with my templates also, the reason I brought them in the first place was to save money on pattern papers cause you can re use over and over...
So biting the bullet I have been playing, some good enough to actually use as a layout base. This is one of those success stories.... so what's the one thing that you have been avoiding?

Sawyers Place
Its been awhile since I have shared anything from Sawyer's Place, I have been busy making Sawyers Place flair buttons.... and of course some layouts.
My favourite go to washi tape is the Grey Airmail, its so versatile it goes with everything boy/girl you can make it darker by laying other colours under it, I love it so much that I am on my second roll already....

A wintery kind of day
Sorry for being absent lately, but I am trying to change that and have a lot of exciting things to share with you over then next couple of weeks. Today the weather is a wet and wild one over here in the West and considering spring is around the corner I thought I would share a season inspired layout.
I find that I tend to scrap like the seasons, I get my best grungy darker layouts done when it is dark outside and my fun bright layouts are done in the warmer, sunny months. So that got me thinking am I the only one that does it this way? are you the opposite? do you do the Summer layouts in Winter wishing that the seasons would change?

Just a simple technique that adds a big punch to your layout, layer strips of washi tape on white cardstock and run it through a die cut machine its a great way to use your washi tape in another way.
So check out the range of Sawyers Place washi tape....

Sunshine and Lollypops.... with Sawyer's place Summer brights
Now that all the warm weather has disappeared here in WA I have been creating alot of bright layouts and my favourite colour is yellow !!! I have been holding onto this photo since 2011, it was taken on the day I got my daughters ears pierced when she was 5 months old, so I need to take a pic of the new bling and my favourite yellow dress.
So when I got given the new Sawyer's Place Summer Brights I knew that I had to use the yellow washi, on the AC Dear Lizzy yellow pp, but it then really needed something floral and girly.... so at the time I just put the layout away for another day. How many of you do that? put things away until you have the perfect solution?
Well my perfect solution came in the form of Scrapbooking Australia's Top 50 Cyber Date night.....
This challenge was an Ideal Date, my combo that I chose was Country Drive; it had to include flowers and patch work...
This is were the floral washi came into play and out came the sewing machine....

Camera Education....
I have been working on educating myself when it comes to my camera and have been doing it for the last 2 years since purchasing my little Rebel Canon 500D.... I did a tafe course 2 years ago that lasted for 20 weeks where we learnt to take it off the auto mode and control the other modes on our cameras. I was lucky to know at the time that my favourite mode was AV = Aperture Propriety mode because I loved the blurred backgrounds on my portraits. However I have found my new love in the Modes and a new style of photography............ BULB!!!
Bulb is about controlling all your aspects of your camera with a tripod and a trigger. And a cool thing that happens under the moonlight like the photo in this layout, did you know if you shoot under moon light with the tripod and trigger you can make things look like daylight? no? well now you know, and you can see in the layout below the magic of your camera.

Yes this nearly ended in the bin......
So when creating this layout for Sawyer's Place Washi tape, it started off a bit of disaster really, it was going to be one of those layouts I would have thrown out and considering I am ain't throw out layout person that would tell you how bad it was, but with a fresh pair of eyes the following morning the layout evolved into one of my all time favourite layouts.
I love it cause it is dark and grungy perfect for a man layout that I don't get the opportunity to do to often because my partner is camera shy.
Have you ever had one of those layouts that you just wanted to throw out but you worked it till was a great layout?
