Reflection.............

Hmmmm, I have a heavy heart.....and need to use this post as a sounding board, to reflect and as some sort of comfort? maybe..... so sorry for bringing anyone down with this post.

This week for anyone who is a parent or who has young children in our lives it has been a tough one.....

With what has gone on in America last week (26 lost, beautiful adults and children) and especially here in Mandurah WA, last night/early this morning, just down the road where we as a family go crabbing a family lost there little two year old girl last night.......

It sits close to me as I have a two year old girl and wonder how would I cope going through this and what if....... the Mandurah community has made me proud to be apart of it as many we down there to search and to show support, as I scrapped this photo today it reminded me this is why I do what I do, to capture every little moment to try and preserve ever minute of everyday because life is precious.......

So I am taking a minute to remind myself of this, and as I put my children to bed tonight, I will count my blessings and give them an extra tight hug. I hope that to all those who have lost someone close that they find peace and know that your not alone in your pain.........

However the other day Sawyer's Place share some of there NEW exciting products and I knew I had to take a little time out and create with them. So I am proud to introduce you to Rourke's Rounds!!!!

Polly's Kits and Sawyers Place

So for something different for this post, I am a scrapper that loves to merge things together, this is one of those layouts, I have been subscribing to Polly's Scrap kits since I think about February this year and my thinking was why not get some new products every month and who doesn't like happy mail? and I thought if I ever had to go to a crop the kits where all done card stock and all the embellishments all I had to do was add photos.....

Now if you can see my shelf there are these beautiful kits and I haven't used them!!! well until now, if you can remember last month I went on a scrappy weekend away and these worked out so well..... but there was one thing that was missing, my washi!!!! but I will tell you a little trick rather than trying to figure out which Sawyer's Place washi to take, you need to go to BCF and grab a Shimano tackle tray, with the removable slots. They hold 20 washi tapes in a row and theres 4 rows so you don't have to decide what not to take.

NO - NOT- NOVEMBER !!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe its November already !!!!! That means Christmas is creeping up and that my big boy is turn 10!!!! I cant believe how 10 years has flown by.....

I have been suffering a bit of lack of mojo or maybe its motivation, but all I know is I haven't done alot of work but lucky for you I still have some layouts to share this might be the week to share some of the back log. So I will share another layout using Kaisercraft Butterfly Kisses, its amazing how with just a die and a 6x6 paper pad you can create a beautiful background.

Made with Memories and foam mount?

Hi another day another post and the kids go back to school tomorrow can you believe it, its Term 4 !!!! So today's share is another one for Made with Memories who are currently doing a Design Team call so check out the details on there blog.

This is another layout using the beautiful Kaisercraft Butterfly kisses range, and alot of foam mount let me tell you. I do from time to time do these layouts that take alot of time and a far amount of planning on how I am going to do the layers. For this layout I nearly used a whole roll of foam mount, theres nothing worse than doing layers and having them collapse.

Made with Memories - Butterfly Kisses

Ok the other day I was telling you that I did 5 layouts for Made with Memories, I thought it was time to share some of them since it is already the 12th October !!!!! Christmas is sneaking up on us argggghhhhhh!!!

I must say when I got this range for my design team pack Butterfly Kisses by Kaisercraft I was a little scared, as people who know me know I don't often do purple, not keen on it and usually avoid it the best I can, and I know I have a girl but still, another thing I try to avoid is Barbie pink so imagine my reaction to this!!!

But I stand before you a changed woman, I loved working with this colour combo..... you wont see me all the time work with it but I LOVE this range.

Bucket list, wish list.....

With school holidays nearly over here in the west, and the Christmas holidays fast approaching (72 days and not counting) it has made me think..... "ohhhhhhhhh I would love to go on a holiday", I think of all my travel I have done and how fortunate I have been. I now pine for those days to be so again. I have my "bucket list " of travel destinations once my kids have grown...

So this layout for Sawyer's Place is a reminder to those dreams and the "wish" of those.....

Sawyer's Place Design Team layouts.......

Now to share some Sawyer's Place Design Team layouts..... and they are both very different !!!

The First layout shows off one on my most favourite washi tape, the pink crochet one, what can I say love it to bits!!! I love that you can join the pattern to make large panels, that allows you do run it through the die cut machine.

The second layout is something totally different, I have decided that I need to do more layouts about things that have been happening in my life and that means taking photos sometimes of things, this layout is just one of those things.

Purple Pumpkin October Sketch

Purple Pumpkin..... Cheeky Monkey

2 weekends ago a couple of my girlfriends and I went away for a couple of nights for a girly get away, the intention was to get alot of kid free, husband free scrapping done, but it turn out to be a great weekend full of great food, wine and gossip. Some pages where done but not alot but it was just what I needed to get rid of the scrappers block that had been hanging around for about 3 weeks.

So with this weekend away I had my kits all packed and some embellishments that I really wanted to use rather than them sit there in the jar, Purple Pumpkin was one of those.

Sawyer's Place catch up...

I just realized that I have been a slack blogger..... there are entire layouts that have been shared with my design teams but not with you. So I will remedy that for the next couple of days. As you all know I am a huge lover of Sawyer's Place washi tape, it is my "go to" thing when I am planning a layout or trying to find that finishing touch. From time to time however I set myself little challenges to see what I can do with washi.

This layout is one of those.....

Not one piece of pattern paper has been used!!! I have laid out the washi on some white cardstock and lined up the pattern to make panels of "pattern paper" and then I have diecut them or made them into banners. Another thing to know about washi is you can stamp on it or sew over it, also if you want to make a plain colour darker try layering it.

Its been awhile since I have posted any of my work from Made With Memories but that doesnt mean that I havent been working, its quite the opposite really, a massive amount of work hasd been done, 2 layouts for Sepetember and 5 for October, which I will share later on in the month, I need to play catch up dont I?

I was lucky for the month of September to work with For the Record 2 by Echo park, I must say I wanted to do a boys and girls layout this month because I feel I have been always doing pink lately..... and once again I am loving YELLOW!!!! it must be the warmer weather.

Purple Pumpkin Challenge just by the skin of my teeth!!!

This happens to be an unusual month for me it seem, usually by the end of the month I am struggling to keep up with my design team deadlines and its always a made dash..... but this month as I said is an unusual month, I have managed in record time to create all my monthly layouts and do some scrapping for me and some challenges, now why cant every month be like this?

Purple Pumpkin do a monthly sketch and I though why not!!! I have the biggest jar of there beautiful buttons and I am getting a collection of there new Flair buttons...... and with the weather finally warming up over here in the west why not do a summer fun layout.

How do I scrap this photo?

You know sometimes there is just a photo that you think "what can I do with it?", it is usually because its too perfect or theres not the right paper or embellishment, so it sits there waiting for your to do something with it. So my question to you is what photo has that been for you? how did you work past it? or is it still in your to do pile?

So here's my one, it was take for my sons 5th Birthday and he is a little lolly mad, so when I saw this lolly pop, I thought perfect what to get a boy that has almost everything he is going to love it. I was right he loved it and I loved the photo. To help me get past my little dilemma..... I used Sawyer's Place washi tape and just layed it down on an angle, can you see there's 3 different types? and I just flicked the matching Lolly pop colours to help close in some negative space. The only thing I think it needs is journalling but at this time I don't know where to put it. Any suggestions?

Handmade Halo.....

Time to share something that is more masculine...... I forget the joy in creating something that is a simple layout that allows the photo to do all the talking and all you need sometimes is a little embellishment here and there. Handmade Halo has some of these things even though they do the most amazing handmade flowers, they also have the perfect bits for a boys page.

And I have to share my favourite product at the moment, its Mr Huey's spray love it for boys its like paint and it has no shine. Perfect for those masculine photos.

Sawyer's Place Washi fun!!!!

Ok I know it seems all I do lately is washi layouts but as you know from my previous post I have just a small amount of it lol. For those who haven't tried washi tape, I urge you to really try, its the simplest product to use and with new designs coming out everyday there is an endless array of choices. The layout below shows you how simple it can be, just lay strips down and stamp over the top of it and your done. So check out Sawyer's Place washi tape.

Sawyer's Place

Where does time go?.... we are already at the end of August !!!

This got me thinking how many photos I have scrapped and how many more I will have to scrap as the years pass. With this in mind I decided to go and find some inspiration with a photo that was taken 2 years ago, at Tristan and Ethan's Sports Carnival. To think we will have another photo of all of us with an addition of Amelia.... oh how the time flies and things change, I look at the photo and I see so much of Ethan in Amelia and how young both of my boys look.

I also love this layout because its just using Sawyer's Place washi tapes, no pattern papers at all..... as you all know I am a bit addicted to washi tape 161 rolls in my collection and growing.  I love how it is so versatile and if you get the colour combos right its a striking addition to your page or in this case instead of using stripes of pattern paper.
