Every Human is an Artist???

This is something that I have always wanted to try but have always held myself back from doing as I feared that it wouldn't be good enough and lets face it there are some really talented mixed media artists out there, but I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go when I was at this months Scrapbooks From the Hearts 12 hour crop

So for this a little bit of prep was required I need to do the texture paste and the gesso before I went on the event  because I am inpatient and I don't like to wait for things to dry lol, this way it was done the night before and already to go...

The best part about this style of scrapbooking is how the page evolves I started with watercolours but decide I wanted brighter so I used some Dylusion but they where too bright so I brought at Scrapbooks From the Hearts some Tim Holtz stains and just painted them on so I could get the right effect....

So have any of you tried the mix media? if so and you want to share just post a link to your blog and I will come and get some inspiration.

Melbourne Scrapbook and Papershow

Its that time of year again.... paper crafting expo season for us here in Australia  and that can only mean a few things my wallet isn't going to be happy  and lots of new things that I "NEED''....

So the season kicks of with  Melbourne Scrapbook & Paper craft Show this weekend and I know the staff at Stix2 Anything are working very hard preparing for this event  - for anyone that is going they will be at STALL 6 - just near the entrance!!!

So to get you inspired before you go to the show, its amazing how just by using a little A4 Sheets Double Sided Foam you can transform a layout.... and I must say I love the A4 sheets because you can cut them to any size you need....

So for those who are going to the Melbourne Scrapbook & Paper craft Show this weekend (lucky Ducks) have fun and pop in and say hi and get inspired by the Design Team works....

What your favourite thing to do?

I have been trying to play with a few different techniques lately, especially since I was given Kaisercraft Backgrounds for my DT for Made With Memories. One of my favourites at the moment is watercolour blending, I love the effect that it gives you the muted tones, and how the colours all bleed together.....

What techniques have you been playing with? leave a comment and a link to your blog and I will check it out.... I am always looking to be inspired by fellow scrapbooker's.....

Arty

The past couple of weeks I have been feeling arty... So I have been exploring different techniques and finally I have been using different products... no longer holding onto them because you cant or might not be able to get them again.... do you find that you do that? and if so what product is it?

I was very lucky this month to receive the Kaisercraft Basecoat collection from Made With Memories, I thought great a blank canvas to do my "arty" stuff but then I remembered I have to show case the papers and because it doesn't come with any embellishments what was I going to do.... well here's one of the results..... What do you think?

Hit or Miss?

Wow half way through February already !!! its really bittersweet I think... on a positive side hopefully this means we are getting closer to the cooler weather and some rain, I love winter and the potential to photograph some nice beach scenes. On the negative side that means Easter is around the corner and that means the made dash to make Easter hats don't get me wrong I making them with the kids and running though ideas etc but its just too early to think of it, I don't even live seeing the Hot Cross buns at the shops with Easter eggs.... but enough of the ranting...

I was given Kaisercraft Class Act as apart of my Made With Memories DT kit this month and it got me thinking of all the school/class photos that have been just shoved into a box " the I will get to it"one....

So rather than do the typical school layout I thought I would try something different. So what do you think? all the papers are the Kaisercraft Class act (with the exception of the background piece).

Inspired Blueprints #83 Reveal.

Another week and another sketch for Inspired Blueprints, and its a great sketch cant wait to see every ones versions of it. I was super excited about this sketch because I knew straight away which photo I was going to use, this is the second time my daughter has ever been to the beach, it was great to see her confidence grow during the time we where there. She would run away screaming ( I don mean screaming that high pitch scream that only girls seem to do), and as soon as she realised it was water well there was no going back. My biggest challenge for that day was not to fall over in the swell with my beloved camera.

So why don't you pop over the blog and check out the rest of the design teams layouts.

Here's the Sketch:

Love and Sassy Scrappers....

Love is in the air here, or maybe me its just me because Valentine's Day is tomorrow, but feeling the love I thought I would share with you a layout that is all about love. If you are like me these layouts are rare to find in my scrapbooks because I just don't take photos of the two of us (this year I am changing that).

Now I know what your thinking Octobers Afternoon's Woodland Parks range really isn't about love..... but I am here to tell you it can be all with a bit of fussy cutting...

1st Ever post and I am excited!!!!!

This my first post for Sassy Scrapper's, I am very excited to be joining this team and I hope to inspire you with my work. I was extremely excited to get my first design team kit and it got to the point where I may have been stalking the posty, waiting to see his van drive past, waiting to go out after I saw his van go past..... but we can talk about my " stalking" tendencies and other issues later.

I will tell you the wait was worth it as I opened the box I did let out a little squeal which then in turn made DH run to find out "whats wrong? are you ok?" which I in turn responded "YES!!!!! look, look at all of this, and this and this" at the 3rd piece of pattern paper I could see I had lost him......

So here's my first share.......

"2"
October Afternoon Woodland Park pp's & Chip 'n Stick chipboard & Little Flyer's flags & Tickets & Ribbon,

As you can see there's plenty in this range so why dont you pop over to Sassy Scrapper's online store today.....

Yes this nearly ended in the bin......

So when creating this layout for Sawyer's Place Washi tape, it started off a bit of disaster really, it was going to be one of those layouts I would have thrown out and considering I am ain't throw out layout person that would tell you how bad it was, but with a fresh pair of eyes the following morning the layout evolved into one of my all time favourite layouts.

I love it cause it is dark and grungy perfect for a man layout that I don't get the opportunity to do to often because my partner is camera shy.

Have you ever had one of those layouts that you just wanted to throw out but you worked it till was a great layout?
